Yesterday, while I was listening to the Sunday sermon I was pressed on how often I forget the promises of God day to day. The Gospel is one that is full of assurance because of what God faithfully promises us. He extends life, mercy, grace, salvation, identity, and hope among others and all of these are promises. I believe that if we can truly operate out of a lifestyle that claims these promises, the way we react to circumstances would change – even the really difficult ones. At the end of the day, we have a joy in Christ that far outweighs the effects of any circumstance in our lives. So for this week, I want to practice carrying His promises with me.
Here’s to Week 5:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” – 1 Peter 1:3-5
