Those who know me are aware of my love for all things Tolkien so when I saw this lecture being advertised around, I had to find the time to watch it.

Michael Drout is Professor of English at Wheaton College. His lecture offers his argument for how best to read Tolkien. It also touches on the elements of his storytelling that have made Lord of the Rings in particular one of the most enduring stories of the 20th century. The last ten minutes alone are worth it all. Check it out if you have the time.
